It was plucked from a curving ridge, walked each evening at dusk. Its edge still reflects the colours of that sky on the anniversary of its discovery.
It follows the rim of a volcano, a long drop on one side the whole way round. It needs no piercing, only a gentle press, and soon disappears from notice entirely. In certain light, its edge scatters colours not found anywhere else.
